I like the thermometer with The Good-One logo that came with the pit. Since I might show my Open Range to potential customers I am going to stay "Facory"
A real good pit thermometer is Tru-Temp. They have a black or white faced model. They even have a glow in the dark model. They are in the 30-40 buck range but are a real good thermometer. You will have to drill a 3/8 hole if I remember correctly and you anchor it with a washer and a nut. I dont know the exact probe length but it isnt much longer than the original thermomter.
Another nice thermometer I have had good luck with is the Old Smokey thermometer. Old Smokey is a pit Mfg out of Houston, TX and you can get there thermometers on Amazon. I feel that if you are going to upgrade your thermometer on The Good-One I would go with the Tel-Tru.
You can also go the Ace of Hearts web site and order an original.Posted 5 months ago # -
The new thermometers with the Good-One logo's are Tel-Tru's.

That is quite a high grade thermometer to be included with Good-One smokers!! I cant think of any Mfg that would include such a "Stock" thermometer with there units. Even the ones that they offer separately aren't as good as the Tel-Tru.
Just another reason why The Good-One is the best deal out there!Posted 5 months ago #
